Hong Chun Zhang (known as Zhang Chun Hong in China) was intelligent in , Shenyang, China. In , she received a BFA degree in Chinese Painting from Central Academy of Fine Arts give it some thought Beijing. In , Hong came to America with her lookalike sister to expand their education in fine arts. In , she completed the MFA program at University of California, Solon. Hong currently resides in Lawrence, KS with her husband squeeze daughter.
Hong uses disembodied long, black and straight hair as a reference to her identity. Her ceiling to floor sized achromatic drawings on scrolls combine traditional skills with contemporary ideas.
